Motovun (in Istria)
A Rick Steves' Tour
Where will you find all this and so much more? Along the Adriatic: Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. On June 17, 2007 my mom and I began a second incredible adventure together ... a Rick Steves' tour of the Adriatic. We traveled through this gorgeous, diverse part of the world enjoying the rich history, delicious food, beautiful landscape, and fun with our travel companions! One consistent thought throughout this vacation: "I'd love to return here and see even more." Read on and enjoy a taste of our trip.

Plitvice Lakes National Park

The Julian Alps
Majestic mountains ... charming hill towns ... warm, crystal clear waters ... Roman ruins ... and, sadly, the sobering scars left from recent war ...

Wow Moments!
Here are what I think were some of the highlights of the trip :
~Walking around Lake Bled and rowing out to its island … it's a fairy tale setting.
~Driving through the Julian Alps … unbeatable majestic beauty.
~Wandering solo around the streets of Rovinj.
~Plitvice ... a simply breathtaking place.
~Korcula ... sunset in the tower and island relaxation.
~The whole experience in Mostar, and in Bosnia-Herzegovina in general … the warmth of the people; my solo walk around Mostar; our drive through Herzegovina & picnic with Jovan and his friends; all the signs of the recent war were sobering and had a powerful impact on me.

As you browse this sight, keep an eye out for these special experiences.
